The Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi releases the first-round seat allotment results on June 15, 2026. If you are a JEE Main candidate and get allocated a seat in DTU, NSUT, IIITD, IGDTUW, or DSEU, your journey is just beginning. You must make immediate decisions. Missing any deadline or ignoring reporting steps will cause your B.Tech seat to be cancelled permanently. This guide outlines exactly what to do after Round 1 results.

Analyze Allotment Now →Scenario 1: You Have Been Allotted a Seat
If the allotment status shows a college and branch allocated to you, you must follow these three steps immediately:
Step 1: Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (₹95,000)
Log in to the JAC Delhi portal and pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of ₹95,000 online. The payment is mandatory to participate in subsequent rounds and lock your seat.
- Deadline: Fee payment must be completed online before the last date of physical reporting for your category (starts immediately after result and closes at 2:00 PM on the reporting day).
- Payment Mode: Payment can be made via Internet Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card. Keep a copy of your fee receipt.
Step 2: Choose Freeze, Float, or Slide Option
After paying the fee, you must choose your seat status. Understanding these options is critical:
- Float (Recommended): You accept the current allotted seat, but you want to participate in upgrades. If a higher preference choice becomes available in subsequent rounds (Rounds 2 to 4), you will be upgraded automatically. If no upgrade occurs, your current seat remains safe.
- Slide: You accept the allotted seat, but you only want upgrades within the same college. You will not be considered for upgrades to other colleges, regardless of your preference order.
- Freeze: You are 100% satisfied with your allotted college and branch and do not want any further upgrades. Locking this option freezes your seat, and you exit the counselling upgrade process.
Step 3: Physical Reporting for Document Verification
Report physically to the college where you have been allotted a seat. The verification committee will verify your documents (JEE Main admit card, Class XII marksheet, category certificate, medical fitness card, and fee receipt). Physical reporting is split day-wise from June 17 to June 25, 2026. Read our Physical Reporting Guide for rank-wise dates and checklists.
Scenario 2: No Seat Allotted in Round 1
If your status shows "No Seat Allotted", do not panic. You do not need to pay any fee or report physically anywhere. You will automatically be carried forward to Round 2.
During the Round 2 window (June 26 to June 28, 2026), you will be given a chance to edit/modify your choices. Make sure you add more choices and optimize your preference order to maximize your allotment chances in Round 2.
Critical Warnings: Do Not Miss Deadlines
If you are allotted a seat in Round 1 and fail to pay the ₹95,000 seat acceptance fee, or fail to report physically for document verification on your scheduled date:
- Your allotted seat will be cancelled immediately.
- You will be permanently disqualified from participating in subsequent rounds (Round 2, 3, and 4).
- You can only participate in the Spot Round (if conducted) at the very end of the counselling.
What if I want to withdraw my seat later?
If you pay the ₹95,000 fee and verify your documents, but later decide to withdraw (due to JoSAA/CSAB allotment or other options), you can withdraw online through the JAC portal.
- Withdrawal Deadline: July 12, 2026 (upto 10:30 PM).
- Refund Policy: If you withdraw on or before July 12, 2026, you will receive a full refund of your seat acceptance fee (minus processing fees). No refund is given for withdrawals made after July 12.
